Black Diamond
On August 16 at approximately 6:44 p.m. on the 32300 block of 3rd Ave., officers were advised of a vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers determined a vehicle was making a right turn when it was hit from behind by another vehicle. No injuries were reported.

On August 15 at 4:41 p.m. on the 32000 block of Miners Ave., officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Upon investigation, it was determined the driver was driving while license suspended and had various warrants. Due to a medical concern and young baby in the vehicle, the driver was cited and released and the vehicle impounded. The baby was given to the grandmother, who arrived, and the subject stated she would walk to the house.

On August 14 at 12:50 p.m. on the 25500 block of Lawson St., officers took a complainant that subject’s girlfriend took belongings from their residence, bought airline tickets with money from their joint account and left with their son to a possible destination of New Mexico. The subject sought advice on how to get his son back.
Covington
On August 18 at 7 p.m. on the 27500 block of Covington Way SE, a suspect male was observed coming and going from a business with another male. The suspect had been trespassed from the business earlier in the year. At this time, the suspect was observed taking a display laptop, stuff it in his pants and then exit the business without attempting to purchase the item. When yelled at to stop, the suspect ran into the parking lot. Citizens joined in the chase. At one point, the suspect dropped his keys and cell phone before finally dropping the laptop. A citizen pointed to a second business where the suspect ran into and was finally contacted. The male denied knowing anything about what happened at the first business, but that a lot of people were chasing him. The male was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) for Criminal Trespass, 1st degree.

On August 14 at 6:16 p.m. on the 26200 block of 200th Ave. SE, officers were dispatched for a possible burglary. Upon contact, the male suspect stated he had taken a package, opened it and then decided to repackage it and put it back. However, he ran when he found that he had been followed. Items from the package were recovered from the male’s backpack. Also found with the backpack was some heroin and some crystal-like substance. The male was booked into SCORE for Theft, 3rd degree.

On August 10 at 3:58 p.m. on the 26900 block of 186th Ave. SE, it was reported that over the past couple of months, drug paraphernalia, trash, human waste and other activity was found around school property. The male suspect was then observed walking in the area and contacted in his driveway. The male admitted being at the school and apologized that his behavior was not acceptable. The male was trespassed from all school district properties.
King County
On August 21 at 3 p.m. on the 15400 block of SE 176th St., a vehicle without license plates and with a possible impound sticker on the windshield was observed parked on the road. Check of the area revealed the vehicle was on the move with another vehicle. Due to the first vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed, the driver of the second vehicle was contacted. The driver did not give a reason for the first vehicle’s driver to be driving recklessly. Meanwhile, two other drivers stopped to report that the first vehicle nearly struck them. Check of the area ended with negative results.

On August 21 at 8:45 a.m. on the 14600 block of SE 188th Pl., while going into a business to pick up an order, someone broke a vehicle window and stole a bag containing college text books and a laptop.

On August 19 at 3:51 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 196th Ave., a vehicle was being driven without plates. Upon contact, the male driver stated he did not need license plates for commercial travel. The male also stated he destroyed his driver’s license. The male was issued an infraction for Expired Vehicle License Plates over two months, No Driver’s License on Person, and No Vehicle Insurance.

On August 19 between 12:01-6 a.m. on the 14400 block of SE 198th St., someone cut off a trailer hitch lock, hitched a trailer that was parked along a curb to a vehicle, and then drove off with the trailer.

On August 13 at 9 a.m. on the 19500 block of 176th Ave. SE, four juvenile males were observed, possibly stripping a vehicle. Upon arrival, all appeared to be clear of the area. Another call came in that two suspects were being detained. One of the males stated he got in the vehicle and was goofing off by putting his car key in the vehicle’s ignition and turned it. When the key became stuck, the male and his friends dismantled the cover on the steering wheel and disconnected wires trying to get the key out, but were unable. The males denied trying to steal the vehicle. Following an investigation, it was agreed with parents that the damage would be paid for and no charges would be brought.
Maple Valley
On August 11 between 4-6 p.m. on the 26900 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, the owner of a business put his keys on a counter while working. Someone entered the business stole his keys and then his vehicle that was in the parking lot.

On August 11 between 8-10 a.m. on the 26500 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, an employee became angered while speaking with a business manager. At one point, the male employee put his keys down, yelled that he quit and walked out of the door causing a scene. When he came back a little later, he was trespassed from the business.

On August 10 at 11 a.m. on the 22500 block of SE 248th St., a male and female were observed rummaging through items in a business parking lot. Upon contact, check of the male revealed he had an out of state license as well as a warrant for Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree. The female also had a suspended license for failing to appear for unpaid tickets. The male was booked into the Regional Justice Center on his warrant and the female was left with the vehicle.
