Black Diamond

On February 18 at 8:14 p.m. on the 30800 block of 228th Pl. SE, officers responded to a residence in regard to a request for Fire Assist. Upon arrival, officers contacted the resident, who had been burning a brush pile. After determining that no crime had been committed, officers cleared the scene, and the Fire Department

put the fire out.

On Saturday, 02/18/2017 at 6:40 p.m. on the 31100 block of 3rd Ave., officers were dispatched to a residence in regard to a request for a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers contacted the resident and determined that he was suffering from a medical emergency and unable to care for himself. Fire and medical assistance was dispatched to the scene, and the individual transported to a local hospital.

On 02/16/17, at approximately 02:11 a.m. 32800 Railroad AVE, Officers received a call regarding a possible impaired driver. Radio advised that the reporting person was following a pickup traveling north past a local business. The vehicle almost hit a curb and was traveling under the posted speed limit. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Union from Roberts Dr. Officers conducted an area check for the vehicle with negative results.

Covington

On February 6 at 12:27 p.m. on the 27100 block of 168th Pl. SE, a male entered a business and asked to see a coffee maker/brewer before asking to show it to his friend. The male was last observed fleeing the business.

On February 3 at 8:16 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 272nd St., a male was observed in a business as possibly intoxicated and yelling at something. Upon contact, it was learned that the male was trespassed from the business before. The male was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) with recommended charges for Criminal Trespass, 1st degree.

On February 1 at 9:36 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 272nd St., a male and female were observed inside a business bathroom and when they emerged, the bathroom smelled of drugs. The male and female were contacted and denied using drugs in the bathroom. Both were trespassed from the business.

King County

On February 11 at 4:30 a.m. on the 17400 block of 147th Ave. SE, according to a resident, someone broke into his residence and he thinks he knows who did it. However, he could not come up with any proof at the time as he was out of town. Laptops and tools were reported as missing.

On February 9 at 5:13 a.m. on the 27600 block of SE 188th St., while checking a trailhead, a male and female were found sleeping in a vehicle. After being awakened, it was discovered that the female had a warrant for failing to appear for Vehicle Trespass. The female was booked into Kent Jail.

On February 8 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the 14600 block of SE 176th St., someone broke into a company van. The resident discovered that the battery cables had also been cut, therefore the alarm had not been set off.

On February 6 between 9 a.m. and noon on the 17600 block of SE 293rd Pl., while hiking in a park, a male was carrying a pistol in a holster. When he was finished with the hike, he realized that the pistol was no longer in the holster. Search of the area that had snow ended with negative results.

On February 5 at 12:59 p.m. in the area of SE Petrovitsky Rd. and 140th Ave. SE, while running a plate, it was discovered that the vehicle had a report of sale over 6 months prior. Upon contact, the driver stated that the vehicle belonged to a friend. Check of the male revealed he had a suspended license for unpaid tickets. The male finally stated that he had purchased the vehicle from a friend. The male was cited for failing to transfer title within 45 days of sale and Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree.

On February 4 between midnight and 3:50 a.m. on the 31300 block of Thomas Rd. SE, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle involved in a collision. Upon contact, the vehicle was observed buried all the way up to the driver’s door in the mud. The driver was also found sleeping behind the wheel in the driver’s seat. The male was finally awakened and eventually climbed out of the passenger’s door. The vehicle smelled of alcohol and an open case of beer was observed inside. The male refused to take any Field Sobriety Tests or breath tests. Following a blood draw, the male was booked into King County Jail for investigation of Felony DUI due to a past DUI Vehicular Assault charge.

Maple Valley

On February 7 at 8 p.m. on the 27400 block of 238th Pl. SE, a long black case was observed along the curb in front of a residence and contained two shotguns. The owner was contacted and stated he took his gun case out of the car to make room for luggage and in a rush, forgot to take the case inside before leaving. Following an investigation, the guns were released to the owner.

On February 4 at 6:10 p.m. on the 22200 block of SE 275th Pl., according to a resident, a vehicle had been sitting in front of a house for approximately 15 minutes with its lights pointed at the house. Upon arrival, the vehicle was found to have struck a mailbox and post and then parked over the mailbox. Contact with the driver revealed he was slumped over the steering wheel appearing to be asleep. The male finally woke up and opened the door. A baggie was observed on the floor, containing heroin. A friend came to take position of a dog, who was the only other occupant in the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and the male booked into Kent Jail for (Attempt) Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act (VUCSA).

On February 3 at 10:23 p.m. on the 26500 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, a vehicle was observed with expired tabs. Check of the driver revealed a suspended license for unpaid tickets. Check of the occupants revealed one passenger had felony warrants for VUCSA, DUI and Reckless Driving. The male was booked into King County Jail on his warrants. The vehicle was impounded and the driver cited for Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree.
