King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn announced today that the entire Covington City Council, including the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, have endorsed his campaign for re-election to the King County Council.
“I’ve worked closely with the Covington City Council over the years and am honored to have their unanimous support for re-election,” said Dunn. “In my next term, I look forward to continuing to partner with the Mayor and Councilmembers as I fight to maintain law enforcement services and work to help local businesses and individuals mitigate the effects of the pandemic.”
The unanimous Covington City Council endorsement includes Mayor Jeff Wagner, Mayor Pro Tem Sean Smith, Councilmember Joseph Cimaomo, Councilmember Jared Koukal, Councilmember Jennifer Harjehausen, Councilmember Elizabeth Porter, and Councilmember Kristiana Soltys.
“Reagan Dunn has worked tirelessly on behalf of Covington residents and served as a partner to the City Council—even more so now as our region navigates the many challenges of the pandemic,” said Covington Mayor Jeff Wagner. “We need Reagan’s voice on the King County Council, and I’m honored to endorse him for re-election.”
As a Councilmember, Reagan has led efforts to support addiction recovery, combat homelessness, fight crime, protect our environment, advocate for our veterans, and fight against human trafficking. Dunn has voted against more tax increases than any other member of the County Council and prioritizes county spending by standing up against waste and government inefficiencies.
Dunn, a former federal prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Justice Department official, is focused on stopping the dramatic rise in homicides and shootings in King County. In addition to public health and public safety, Dunn’s vision is to focus on economic recovery during and after the pandemic by investing in our local economy and working with small and large businesses to recover lost jobs. He also prioritizes providing County aid to residents who are struggling during the pandemic.
Dunn’s re-election has been endorsed by every mayor within County Council District 9 and many other state and local leaders from across the political spectrum. The King County Council is a non-partisan elected body.
