King County Sheriff’s detectives searched a wooded area outside of Duvall today looking for remains of a Green River killer victim. Detectives, along with cadaver dogs, searched the area near NE 140th St and 286 Ave NE today but nothing was found.
Detectives said this area was one of many locations that convicted killer Gary Ridgway provided to police during the investigation after his arrest. Detectives said when time allows they continue to look at information learned from Ridgway and conduct searches in areas that have not been searched before.
Detectives had no specific information about which victim may have been in area searched today. In 2003 Ridgway was convicted of killing 49 women but said he likely committed over 71 murders. Many of the women’s bodies have not been found.
