RESERVE SILICA MINE SITE CLEANUP
The Greater Maple Valley Unincorporated Area Council (GMVUAC) will hold a special meeting on Friday, November 16, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM at the Maple Valley Fire Station (SE corner of SE 231st St / SR-169 intersection across from the Sheriff’s Precinct). The Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) will discuss its Draft Agreed Order—an agreement to conduct a remedial investigation, feasibility study, and draft cleanup action plan—for the Reserve Silica Mine Site Cleanup Project. Guest speakers will be: DOE’s Madeline Wall and Tim O’Connor, Reserve Silica’s Marisa Floyd, and Holcim’s team of Gary Zimmerman and Golder Associates. There will be a public comment period on DOE’s Draft Agreed Order from November 5 through December 7.
