Black Diamond
On January 28 at approximately 10:32 p.m. on the 25200 block of Kanaskat Dr., officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle occupied by two individuals. Upon arrival, the occupants were contacted, and officers determined that no crime had been committed. The individuals were instructed to leave the area.

On January 28 at approximately 2:02 a.m. on the 32600 block of 3rd Ave. SE, officers stopped a vehicle for equipment violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driving status of the driver was suspended and that an ignition interlock device was required, however, there was no ignition interlock device present. The driver was booked into Enumclaw Jail.

On January 28 at approximately 1:06 a.m. on the 22500 block of SE 296th St., officers contacted a suspicious vehicle that was in the park after hours. Officers detained the female passenger of the vehicle regarding a warrant from another police department. Upon confirmation of the warrant, the department advised Black Diamond to release the warrant subject. The individual was released and advised of her warrant. The driver and female were also advised that they were not allowed in the park after dark.
Covington
On January 28 at 4:50 p.m. on the 17400 block of SE 270th Pl., a known female shoplifter was observed exiting the emergency door to a business. The female was located at another nearby business. Check of the female revealed she had a warrant for Theft, 3rd degree. The female was trespassed from the first business and then booked into Kent Jail on her warrant.

On January 25 at 9:30 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 270th Pl., two suspicious males were observed acting nervous in a business and then stuffing various items in their backpack as well as under their clothing, before walking out of the business without attempting to pay for the items. Upon contact, search of the males revealed meth on one of the males. Stolen items included a beanie cap, a belt, 2 electronic headphones, 3 men’s coat/jackets, and sweatpants. After being trespassed from the business, both males were booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) for Theft, 3rd degree, with one male receiving an additional charge of Attempt VUCSA (Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act).

On January 25 at 3:43 p.m. on the 15600 block of SE 263rd Pl., according to a resident, a suspicious call came in from a female claiming she was from King County Sheriff’s Office and was checking on security measures of the resident’s home. After answering several security type questions, the call ended. However, while thinking about it later, the resident checked the phone number and it was listed to a known female of an incarcerated relative.
King County
On February 1 at 3:26 a.m. on the 22600 block of 156th Ave. SE, after hearing a crash and seeing a vehicle crashed into a tree, a homeowner called 911 regarding the incident. Check of the vehicle revealed it to be unoccupied. Upon arrival, a male on scene stated it was his relative who had walked home a few houses a way. Upon contact, the male driver smelled of intoxicants. The male stated he had swerved to avoid hitting a deer and then crashed into the tree. The male declined the Field Sobriety Tests and was transported to a local hospital for assessment. A blood sample was taken, and the male released before being booked into jail for DUI.
On January 30 at 7:01 p.m. in the area of SE Kent/Kangley Rd. and 327th Ave. SE, deputies responded to an elk vs. vehicle. The elk was dispatched.
On January 30 between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. of January 31 on the 30000 block of 329th Pl. SE, employees found that scaffolding had been stolen overnight at a job site. Also missing was a trash can and some insulation.
On January 30 at 3:30 a.m. on the 20300 block of SE 240th, someone broke into a shop and stole three chainsaws.
On January 29 at 12:01-9:27 a.m. on the 17800 block of 156th Pl. SE, five of 8 separate mailboxes clustered together and each had been pried open with possible mail stolen.
On January 29 between 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m. on the 27100 block of Landsburg Rd. SE, someone stole a generator that was under an eve of a garage at the end of a driveway near the road.
Maple Valley
On January 28 at 10:57 p.m. in the area of SR 516 and 218th Ave. SE, an officer came upon a two-vehicle collision. Upon contact with a female and three males, an odor of alcohol was detected on all their breaths. The female stated she had been driving her vehicle when the other vehicle made a turn in front of her. Unable to avoid the other vehicle turning in front of her, she collided with it. According to the male driver of the other vehicle, the female was flashing her lights at him, so he thought she was telling him to go. After declining the Field Sobriety Tests and the Preliminary Breath Test, he gave breath samples of .172/.171. He also stated that he had only consumed one beer. The female was processed with another officer and both vehicles were impounded.

On January 28 at 8:27 p.m. on the 26900 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, a male was observed sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle in a business parking lot. Upon arrival, the vehicle was parked, but still running with the stereo blaring and brake lights activated. After trying to get the male driver to respond, the officer opened the unlocked door and the male finally responded. An overwhelming smell of alcohol was detected coming from the male who stated he had only one beer. After failing the Field Sobriety Tests, the male’s intoxicated mother came out of the business with a shopping cart full of liquor. After giving two breath samples .242/.241, the male was booked into Kent Jail for Physical Control. The vehicle was impounded, and the mother picked up by a friend.

On January 26 at 12:15 a.m. on the 24200 block of Witte Rd. SE, a witness reported that a male driver had struck a light pole in a median. Upon arrival, a vehicle was observed high centered on a median with the driver still in the vehicle, conscious and alert. Upon contact, a smell of alcohol could be detected coming from the interior of the vehicle. The male driver admitted to drinking several beers and a couple of shots. A blood draw was taken from the male. The vehicle was impounded, and case submitted to the prosecutor with recommended charges of Physical Control of Vehicle While Under the Influence.
