Make a Difference Day made a difference in many people’s homes this past Saturday. The national Day of Helping Others was carried out in our area by many volunteers. The community center was host to the breakfast provided for all volunteers, prepared by the Maple Valley & Black Diamond Rotary. The Lake Sawyer Christian Church, directed by Jennifer Lawless, and Mike & Melanie Ford and Sherri Potts’ Home Group, had many volunteers who helped seniors, families, and did a wonderful job clearing out “old junk” from the community center basement. The Lake Sawyer Community Center crew also trimmed all our outside shrubs to prepare our center for winter. Other groups like the Kiwanis Club of Black Diamond & Maple Valley went out to other sites to help do projects.
The staff and Board of Directors of the Black Diamond Community Center are thankful for all those who helped our community members get ready for winter. Those of you who helped clean up our center, I really appreciate the hard work. Our community center has never looked better.
Thank you,
