Dance like bees with Urban Farmer Lisa Taylor and her Garden Critter Academy puppets as we take a music and movement filled adventure in a bee hive. Buzz with the bees to gather pollen, fertilize plants and help make our food.
Build a Better Lunch

We’re opening the library on Friday night just for teens. Play video games, watch a movie, use computers, snack or just hangout. All free!
Please arrive at 7pm sharp. Reservations will be held until 7:10pm. Teens must be picked-up by 10pm.

Discover the different non-profit agencies offering food assistance programs in and around Covington. Chat with each group to find out how they can help you, or how you can help the community by volunteering with them.
Budget Bites

Presented by Erika Speirs, NourishME!
In this hour long demonstration cooking class, focus on nutritious, tasty and budget-friendly recipes. Get hands-on cooking experience by volunteering to assist or just relax and sample yummy tasters. Recipes will be vegetarian with possible eggs and dairy.

In this joyful “playshop,” use voice, body, hand percussion and drums (supplied) to explore the wonderful world of rhythm. Before you know it, you will be making the music you love to dance to! No musical background necessary.

Use Your Voice: Political Advocacy 101

Open to anyone who is interested in learning how to advocate to their Members of Congress as well as to their State and locally elected officials about issues that matter to you. Your legislators work for you so it’s time they hear from you!

AARP Tax Help
Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays through April 15, 10am-4pm
Get free individualized tax preparation assistance provided by trained AARP volunteers. No age or income limits. Please bring picture I.D., documented proof of Social Security Number, and last year’s return as well as any current tax documents. No complex or business returns. Please pickup and complete the AARP intake form at the Information Desk.
Priority for tax appointments is given to walk-ins. Those who phone will be placed on hold until all walk-ins have been served, 253.630.8761.
