The Greater Maple Valley Community Center’s 7th annual Oktoberfest, held on Friday, October 21st, was a night to remember! The Happy Hans Band entertained the crowd of about 150 revelers, while our talented cooks Lorrie and Beth, along with their army of volunteers provided a dinner of Brats, Sauerkraut, Potato Salad and Apple Turnovers. There was plenty of beer and wine to go around, with pop and hot dogs for our youngest partiers. The GMVCC would like to thank our generous sponsors for providing monetary support, food, or raffle items. In alphabetical order: Aegis of Kent, Azafran Mediterranean Bistro, Buds and Blooms of Maple Valley, Columbia Bank (Maple Valley), Covington Place Senior Apartments, Gary and Candy Harper, International Social Club, Joyce Thoensen, Karen’s Footcare, Lind’s Quality Meats, Maple Valley Bar and Grill, Maple Valley 2 Senior Softball Team, Marcia and Gregg MacDonald, Papa John’s Pizza (Maple Valley), Rich and Pauline Taylor, STEAMboat Studio, Stocktons Restaurant, S’Wiched Sandwich Shop, Testy Chef Restaurant, Wilderness Village QFC and Wilderness Village Starbucks. We could not have pulled off this event without our outstanding legion of volunteers: Marcia MacDonald, Shane Baker, Pauline Taylor, Erin and Morgan Jones, Gladys Gilbert, Val Jolley, Ron Keller, Shelley Kimmerle and Lon Protteau, along with members of the Maple Valley 2 Senior Softball Team: Rich Taylor, Judy Kloss, Mary McDermott, Roger and Nancy Jones, Dave and Yvonne Jellison, and Bob and Lisa Chevrette. Auf Wiedersehen!
