The Covington Cup was created when the schools moved from the SPSL to the NPSL Cascade Division this year because the coaches wanted to ensure the school rivalry among Kentwood, Kentlake, Kentridge, and Tahoma would not be lost. The Covington Cup matches were played by the Boys Varsity and JV teams of the four schools. The matches moved each week to the home course (Meridian Valley CC, Fairwood CC, Jade Green, and Druids Glen) of each school. During a match played at Tahoma’s own home course, Druids Glen, the Varsity boys set a school record for the course with 102 Stableford points for the match. The final round was played the week of Oct.6 with Tahoma winning with a total of 358 Stableford points for the four matches.

With a win at the two NPSL League matches, the boys went into the District match at the top of the leaderboard.  With a slow start on the first day front nine, at a rainy windy Gold Mountain Golf Course, the boys were able to go undefeated with a record of 21-0 in league play. Following the final round of the District Qualifier, all six varsity players were recognized on the all-division teams: Colt Sherrell and Justin Pederson on first team; Parker Kneadler, Luke Taylor and Nathan Choi on second team; and Colby Watkins with honorable mention. Sherrell and Pederson qualified directly to the state tournament. Kneadler, Taylor and Watkins will play in the spring qualifier. Mason Fritsch, who played JV, qualified for the medalist tournament in a JV qualifier the week prior, per coach Dave Reynoldson.

The Varsity Team will be losing three seniors this year Justin Pederson, Nathan Choi, and Luke Taylor.
