An off duty police officer spotted Firefighter Ward and his truck around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Firefighter Ward is in the care of the Grant County Coroner whose staff will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death. There is no indication of any foul play.
Ken’s family and everyone at Mountain View Fire & Rescue would like to thank everyone that helped us in the search for Fire Firefighter Ward. We had over 100 off duty firefighters, police officers, and other individuals help search across the state. This extensive search covered the entire state using personal vehicles, ATVs, helicopters, and fixed wing aircraft.
He was found with a single gun shot wound.
Our thoughts are with Ken’s family as we all mourn the loss of our brother.
