Russian Story Time
Tuesday, October 4, 11, 18 and 25, 10:30 a.m. Stories, rhymes and music in Russian. Русская Сказка. Crazy 8s Math Club
Tuesday, October 4, 11, 18, and 25, 4:15 p.m. September 13 – November 1. Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. Crazy 8s is a recreational after-school math club that helps kids enjoy the math behind their favorite activities. It’s math gone wild! Kids build glow-in-the-dark structures, crack secret spy codes and play games like Toilet Paper Olympics. Register for the eight-week series online beginning August 20. Funded by the Bedtime Math Foundation. Sponsored by the Friends of the Covington Library.
Family Story Time
Tuesday, October 4, 11, and 18, 7:00 p.m. Family program, all ages welcome with adult. Pajamarama! Reading, rhymes, songs and movement activities to build language skills that start your child on the road to reading. Stay and play until 8 p.m. with early learning toys after Story Time.
Infant and Young Toddler Story Time
Wednesday, October 5, 12, and 19, 10:05 a.m. Newborn to 24 months with adult, siblings are welcome. Wee Ones! Enjoy bouncy rhymes, familiar songs and a wee bit of story in this 20-minute session, followed by 20 minutes of social time with blocks and bubbles.
Glow-in-the-Dark Lanterns
Thursday, October 6, 4:30 p.m. Grades 3-6. Make glow-in-the-dark mummies and fairy lights. Learn about real ghost lights and gross-out mummy trivia. Bring a friend; make a friend. If you are able, bring your own jar for each lantern (about 1 pint size). Sponsored by the Friends of the Covington Library

The Green Bird Puppet Show
Tuesday, October 25, 7:00 p.m. – Presented by Oregon Shadow Theatre. Ages 5 and older. In a story with music and shadow puppets a boy is transformed into a fortune telling bird by an evil magician. A brave girl tries to save him and encounters characters and scenes from Mexico’s rich folkloric tradition. Performance is held in the darkened Great Hall. The program is not appropriate for very young children. Sponsored by the Friends of the Covington Library

The ease with which beginners can become accomplished snowshoers helps explain this growth, as does the relatively low cost of entering the sport.
